Description
This is Daisy. She’s a 6 month old staffie mix. She was adopted along with her brother from the Lancaster shelter on 10/4/25. According to the shelter they were found roaming around Lancaster and were strays. They had been in the shelter for about a month before they were adopted. The shelter informed the owners that had kennel cough, and since they had dealt with it before they decided it was okay because they seemed great when leaving the shelter. Two days later daisy went down hill. She was taken to the first vet and they put her on antibiotics but told us the incorrect dose and overdosed her. She was being overdosed for 6 days unbeknownst to the owners. She was very very very sick. She wouldn’t eat, barely moved, wasn’t drinking water. They took her to a different vet. That vet diagnosed her with pneumonia and put her on two antibiotics (with the correct dosage), an anti inflammatory and gave her IVs at home. They took blood test and X-rays. The blood work came back bad and same with xray.
They waited two weeks and she got much better. Still has a little labored breathing and a wet cough. They went in for a follow up visit on Monday. She had another blood test. Her blood work is still terrible. Her vet ordered a fungal blood test for valley fever. They are waiting for the results. If she has it, she’ll be on the anti fungal for 30 days. If she is negative, we will give her a dewormer for lung worm. No matter what in a couple weeks they will need another xray and more bloodwork to make sure she is all better. As you can imagine the owners are tapped out, they have no money left to continue her treatment. Please help Furry Funding get the remaining dollars needed to get Daisy healthy. She deserves a chance.
