Meet Our Team

Terri Garcia

President

Originally from Sleepy Hollow, New York, I moved to Los Angles in 1998. I have always been an avid animal lover, adopting our first rescue pup from a local animal rescue shortly after moving to California. I took my love of design and animals, founding “Chief Furry Officer” a boutique pet product company specializing in gifts for pets and the people who love them. Through my company, I became more involved in helping animal rescues in various roles. I served on the board of a local animal non-profit focusing on chairing many events and primarily soliciting donations, fundraising and networking.

As a proud “dog mom” of two fabulous boys, Frankie and Jesse, I have seen first hand that it takes a village to help all the animal advocates continue to save so many lives. Together with Chris and Cathy, we bring together our passion and expertise to form Furry Funding. It is our hope to provide much needed financial assistance to other 501c3 non-profits in our community. I enjoy spending time with my four legged kids, playing tennis and cooking (I’m Italian and love to feed people!). I have been married for 35 years to my husband Carlos and currently reside Westlake Village, CA.

Chris Sullivan

Founder/Treasurer

I have lived in the area since I was 2 years old. I graduated from CSU Northridge with a degree in Business and followed it up with an MBA from California Lutheran. For the past 20 years, I have owned a successful small business.

My love for animals goes back to my childhood and keeps growing stronger. They say you are either a dog person or a cat person; I’m both. I had a cat for 20 years and now have 3 labrador mixes, 2 of which are rescue dogs. Over the past few years, I have decided to take what I have learned in the business world and apply that knowledge to help animal rescue organizations. I look forward to working with Cathy and Terri to help animals and rescue organizations throughout the area.

Cathy Trent

Secretary

I was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Ventura County in the 80s. I have always loved animals, and started rescuing dogs at a very young age. My mother always said she was never able to pick a dog because I was always bringing home strays. Once, I brought home an abandoned, pregnant shepherd that gave birth to 9 puppies. When they were old enough, I found them all good homes. I graduated from Loyola Marymount University and went to work in the business world. I have two beautiful, amazing daughters who also share my love for animals and spent their youth riding and caring for horses.

After spending 30+ years as an Information Technology professional, I retired to enjoy life and pursue my love for animals. I spent two years with a local animal rescue. In those two years, I chaired their first Gala and assisted them in opening their first Adoption center where we rescued over 1,000 animals. I firmly believe that every animal deserves a loving home and is safe from abuse.
