Sweet Brooklyn and her mom were attacked by a much larger dog
The dog ran full speed toward them — knocking Brooklyn’s mom to the ground — and bit her ankle while she tried to shield Brooklyn’s face and neck. Then he turned on her, biting her hind leg, belly, and abdomen several times. The last bite locked completely onto her back left leg. It felt like forever before we could break free.
Brooklyn had multiple deep puncture wounds and tears from trying to pull away. She was in a lot of pain and was struggling to walk.
She was rushed to Horizon Animal Hospital; they refused to treat her because she didn’t have the full amount upfront. She urgently needed antibiotics, pain medicine, and sutures. Thank you to Buena Vet in Ventura for getting her in right away. They had to do the sutures under anesthesia, and the vet kept her over night to give her IV fluids and IV pain meds and antibiotics. The cost to Furry Funding was $850,00.
Brooklyn had the drain removed on 3/2/26 and will have the stitches out on 3/11/25. Please donate to help animals like Brooklyn
