| This is from Dakota’s owner: “Hello, my name is Steele and the last few years have been the hardest of my life. I lost my career job during covid then the home I was renting for my mother and I. While moving my mother started feeling sick so I took her to the ER where we were told she had a few large rare cancer tumors. She spent the next 4 months in the hospital while I packed our home into storage and moved into a small travel trailer on a friends property with my pup Dakota and my moms chicken binky. After they finally did surgery my mom went to stay at my grandmothers in her spare room /office while she recovered and we tried to figure life out. We went for a check up 3 months later and unfortunately found out the cancer was back and was not operable. She started chemo and ended up moving into the little trailer with me. After a few treatments she started to feel very sick and I rushed her to the ER again. There we found out that the chemo was not working and there was nothing more they could do and gave her 2 weeks to 3 months. I was not okay with that and ended up taking her to a friends place in Utah and trying other alternatives. We had our ups and downs but did get a lot farther than what the doctors said however, unfortunately, I lost my mother after a long 10 month battle. I’m struggling with the loss everyday my mom wasn’t just my mother she was my best friend it was just us since I was 1 years old. After the loss I decided to moving back to the little trailer in California with my moms chicken and my pup. 3 days after returning binky the chicken got sick and passed away. Now I have just been told that my baby girl Dakota has B-Cell Lymphoma. I can’t lose here she is all I have. From taking care of my mother I had quit my job and now have only been able to get work here and there. I hate to ask for help but I’m against a wall there is a promising treatment but is not cheap. I was sent a estimate of $14,515.60 – $22,842.20. Anything helps and I thank you all in advance” Unfortunately, Furry Funding does not pay for cancer treatment, but if we get donations, we will send them to his veterinarian. |
