This is far from a success story. It is important to create a post about Peggie because her life mattered and we are all heartbroken that we couldn’t save her.
Peggy was rushed to Horizon emergency because she has been having diarrhea and throwing up for three days and is now having difficulty breathing and is lethargic. Peggie was owned by a homeless man living in Ventura. Furry funding paid to get her seen by Horizon Vet. Peggie was very sick and in kidney failure. The vets thought at the beginning that she could pull through so we went ahead and paid for the overnight care. She showed some signs of improvement the next day, but unfortunately later that night she took a turn for the worse and it was decided by the vet that the best thing for Peggie was to humanely euthanize her. The owner was called to come in and say his final goodbyes and send Peggie over rainbow bridge.
We did everything we could for her. Her kidneys failed and we couldn’t let her suffer. Furry Funding covered the $3,400 vet bill. This has left our funds depleted, so if you would like to help Furry Funding save lives, please donate.
Rescue is sometimes very sad and each one we lose breaks our hearts. However, the ones we save keep us going.
